ABOUT THE BOOK

was a labour of love for me from the beginning. We sold our first piece of Sherman over 19 years ago, and from then on it was a love affair between Sherman and myself. Luckily my husband is not a jealous man! Although I never had the privilege to meet the designer himself, over the years it seemed that I had come to know so much about the way he felt when he worked on the fabulous, extraordinary “Jewels of Elegance” which we hold in such reverence today.

I realized that if there was going to be such a book, I could write it. With an extensive background in Journalism on a freelance and contract basis , writing this book was a natural extension of my prior experience . In addition this was something which I really wanted to accomplish both for our customers and collectors across the country.

This is an introduction to the diverse, extraordinary designs made in Canada by a man who had no former knowledge of the jewellery trade.
